Peppermint Essential Oil
This peppermint essential oil stimulates and invigorates the body and mind, and is traditionally known to help combat nausea, motion sickness, headaches and soothe muscle aches. Process of obtaining
Complete distillation by steam distillation. Botanical name: Mentha x piperita Franco-Mitcham
Precautions
- Prohibited for pregnant and breastfeeding women, epileptic subjects, children under 6 years old and the elderly.
- Strictly prohibited in infants under 30 MONTHS (toxicity by local contact: laryngeal or nasal reflex which can lead to respiratory arrest).
- Use occasionally and in limited doses. No prolonged use without the advice of an aromatherapist.
- ● Irritant, and powerful cooling effect: always dilute well, use at 30% maximum for cutaneous application. Reserve for very localized or very diluted use. Do not use in baths.
- When diffusing, dilute in other, milder essential oils (dosage at 15% max).
- Avoid contact with eyes, do not apply too close to eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
- Possible stimulating effect on ovarian function, not recommended in cases of estrogen-dependent pathology.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Some natural compounds contained in this essential oil may present a risk of allergy in certain sensitive individuals when the essential oil is incorporated into a cosmetic composition.
As a general rule, always do a test application of your preparation, in the crease of the elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.
