Yarrow essential oil is traditionally used for:
Eczema, chapping, cracks, abrasions, sores and cuts
Properties
- In health, yarrow essential oil is recognized for these properties:
- Renowned for its powerful anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties
- Traditionally used as a wound healing agent, and to stop minor bleeding.
- Known to be decongestant and astringent
- Studies show the cholagogue, choleretic potential of Yarrow
- Anti-allergic, relieves itching
- Long used as an emmenagogue agent (stimulates the onset of menstruation)
Uses
- It is traditionally used to improve the following situations:
- Cracks, chapped skin, small cuts, eczema
- Hepatobiliary and digestive discomfort
- Sprain
- Neuritis, neuralgia
- Painful or light periods
In practice

Difficult digestion: Mix it in your oily preparation. Apply your mixture locally by massaging or rubbing it on the abdomen.
Precautions
Prohibited for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, epileptics, and sensitive elderly people (due to its ketone content, compounds presenting neurotoxic and abortive risks at high doses).
Some natural compounds contained in this essential oil may present a risk of allergy in certain sensitive people when the essential oil is incorporated into a cosmetic composition: limonene and linalool.
As a general rule, always do a test application of your preparation, in the crease of the elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.
No internal use, except possibly under therapeutic control.
