Coconut butter is attributed with several medicinal and cosmetic properties due to the complexity of its lipid composition. It contains lauric acid, which makes it particularly suitable for oily skin. This acid also gives it antibacterial properties, when it is transformed into monolaurin. It is the butter most suitable for the manufacture of soaps, both solid and liquid.
